Prof. Pascal Lorenz, University of Haute-Alsace, France

Pascal Lorenz received his M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from the University of Nancy, France. Between 1990 and 1995 he was a research engineer at WorldFIP Europe and at Alcatel-Alsthom. He is a professor at the University of Haute-Alsace, France, since 1995. His research interests include QoS, wireless networks and high-speed networks. He is the author/co-author of 3 books, 3 patents and 200 international publications in referred journals and conferences. Assoc. Prof. Hossein Hashemi Doulabi, Concordia University, Canada

Hossein Hashemi Doulabi is an Associate Professor of Operations Research at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. His primary research interests lie in the application of large-scale optimization methods to supply chain management and logistics in the area of healthcare. His methodological expertise includes stochastic programming, decomposition-based integer programming algorithms (such as Benders decomposition, Lagrangian relaxation, and column generation), dynamic programming, and robust optimization. In recent years, he has worked on a wide range of healthcare optimization problems, including blood supply chain network design, blood inventory management, humanitarian logistics planning in natural disasters, home healthcare routing and scheduling, operating room planning and scheduling, chemotherapy scheduling, physician scheduling in polyclinics, patient appointment scheduling, and forecasting the spread of COVID-19. Prior to joining Concordia University, he received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and also completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Assoc. Prof. Wei Ma, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China

Dr. Wei Ma received bachelor’s degrees in Civil Engineering and Mathematics from Tsinghua University, China, master’s degrees in Machine Learning and Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, USA. He is currently an associate professor with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). His research focuses on the intersection of machine learning, data mining, and transportation network modeling, with applications for smart and sustainable mobility systems. He receives awards for research excellence and his contributions to the area, including the 2020 Mao Yisheng Outstanding Dissertation Award, and best paper award (theoretical track) at INFORMS Data Mining and Decision Analytics Workshop. Dr. Ma is now serving in the Early Career Editorial Advisory Board on Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies and Associate Editor of IEEE TITS.

Prof. Lei Hou, Harbin Institute of Technology, China

Lei Hou received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2009, 2011 and 2015, respectively. He won the first "Excellent Doctoral Thesis in Mechanics in China" award in 2017, and was selected into the "Recruitment Plan for Young Top Talents in Harbin Institute of Technology" in 2017 and 2020, and was promoted to associate professor and professor. He engaged in the research on nonlinear dynamics and vibration control of aeroengine rotor system, presided over more than 10 scientific research projects such as National Major Science and Technology Project, National Natural Science Foundation of China (general, young scholars), Heilongjiang Provincial Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, published 81 journal papers, including 52 SCI papers, more than 800 other citations, authorized and accepted 8 national invention patents, and registered 3 software copyrights, He won one second prize of Heilongjiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Some of the research results have been applied to the actual project, resulting in economic benefits of more than 50 million yuan.

Assoc. Prof. Pavel Loskot, Zhejiang University - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Institute, China

Pavel Loskot obtained BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering and MSc degree in Radioelectronics from the Czech Technical University of Prague, Czech Republic. He was then Research Scientist and Project Manager in the Centre for Wireless Communications at the University of Oulu, Finland before moving to Canada to earn the PhD degree in Wireless Communications from the University of Alberta. Since 2007, he was a Senior Lecturer in Engineering at Swansea University, UK. He is the Senior Member of the IEEE, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK, and the Recognized Research Supervisor of the UK Council for Graduate Education. His current research interests lie in applications of statistical signal processing methods to problems in telecommunication engineering and computational molecular biology.
